Whenever you attend any of the shows, it's really an eye-opener to see the many different artists, acts and sheer variety of costumes. Every show is something different.
We meet a lot of cool and fun people who just love burlesque. Some come to the shows for an occassional fun night out, while others are completely hooked and we see them at every show. It's inspiring to see couples enjoy this entertainment and artistic fantasy together. We have a ton of different
hosiery styles that we hand pick to fit with our burlesque look. Most of the styles are one size and there are several that run in plus size which you can find grouped in our
plus size section. The toughest decision is whether to get thigh highs or traditional stockings which require garters. It's up to you. Each of our hosiery styles are classy and make such a fun and sexy gift for her!
Hats and Fascinators
A favorite aspect of burlesque fashion are the hats and hair accessories. Each performer spends a lot of time on dramatic, sparkly makeup and hair. With a
cute mini top hat or lush feather fascinator, you can also create a little burlesque inspired look of your own. Often we see burlesque fashion creep its way out into other fancy events and we always notice them. These hair accessories make a great present that she can wear whenever the moods strikes.
Gloves
Ah yes, the gloves! These beauties are a staple item for any performer and make a wonderfully elegant gift. Part of the tease of every performance involves the tantalizing removal of gloves. Gloves remind us of the distant past when formal events were more common and women made bold statements with what they wore to them. It's great to see long gloves out and about town again thanks to burlesque shows. Of course you can always wear a pair for a private show of your own, and we have several fab styles to choose from.
Bustle Skirts
Bustles are garments that go back a couple hundred years to a time when women wore them under dresses with corsets. The 19th century burlesque adopted many of the styles of that time, including bustles, and created the iconic burlesque girl. Today, many performers bring in the old styles and wear bustle skirts as part of their act. Whether for a performance of your own or just for a little dress up, a bustle skirt makes the perfect gift for her. These come in one size and either have elastic in the waistband or pin to another garment like a garter belt. Nothing makes a flamboyant statement like a beautiful satin bustle skirt trailing behind.
