Boudoir Photo Shoot Tips

So you’ve booked your photo shoot, shopped for the perfect lingerie and found an ideal shoot location. With the big day approaching, here are some simple tips to prepare you for your upcoming boudoir photo shoot.
1. Drink water
Water flushes out toxins, plumps and hydrates skin, and makes your eyes look clear and bright. Alcohol and soda have the opposite effect, making the skin look dull, eyes look tired. Ensure you’ll look your best by opting for a water instead of a margarita the week of your shoot.
2. Get help with your hair and makeup
Having your hair and makeup professionally done the day of your session can make a huge difference and help you feel more relaxed. Some photography studios offer on-site hair and makeup assistance, but if you have something special in mind don’t be afraid to bring in a picture.
3. Hit the gym
Doing a bit of extra resistance or strength work will help your body look toned and sexy the day of your shoot. So pop in that pilates video or do a few extra reps at the gym. Don’t overdo it though - posing won’t be comfortable if your muscles are sore.
4. Details count!

5. Relax!
Don’t get caught up in making the perfect expression or posing like a supermodel - that’s what the photographer is there to help you with. You’ll look best if you’re relaxed and feeling confident. Do what’s needed to get there. Some photographers allow the model to bring a friend along or music to play during the shoot. Just ask!
